Maia and Alex shibutani's PyongChang gala performance to 'that's life'!! It was amazing and I can't find it anywhere!
Alina's short program to Black Swan, with slow motions and kiss and cry.
Mao Asada Sochi 2014 FS
Please post Shoma Uno's PyeongChang 2018 SP, FS, Team SP. I've been waiting so long. Thanks.
Paul Wylie's "Why God Why" from Miss Saigon, Albertville Olympics exhibition.
Okay, I'm no figure skater, but even I can tell that this isn't just skating. This guy is performing and he loves every second of it. He's telling a story. He's commanding everyone to look at him. This isn't just technical. There is real, genuine feeling in this performance, and you can tell.
❤
This guy is my all time favourite too and like you, Im no figure skater.
The recent quadruple leaping Russian named American is probably technically better, but I found his routine quite boring. It reminded me of those idiotic gestures the gymnast do on the beam in between doing all their clever stuff.
This routine is extraordinary. I am a ballet lover though, so perhaps it’s the performance that matters to me just as much as the technicality. He totally entertain me and moves me on all levels. This is over 10 years ago and I’ll always remember it. There was a French guy about 26 years ago in the Olympics that dressed up as D’Artagnan and he was just incredible but he got third or fourth place. 🤷♀️
Jason is few of the figure skaters that makes you feel the magic on the ice, even when he can't do quads.
I've never been impressed by quads anyway. The revolutions have to be so fast in order to pull off a quad, they basically just look like a frenetic triple.
Not gonna lie, he lacks the consistency for triple axel too. But not all skaters need to be jumping machines and we definitely need people like Jason in the game.
@@jjk4891 Not gonna lie. He proved you wrong at Worlds with his 3A.
I can’t see the difference between a triple and a quad. Jason has something no other skater has.
This is not a short program, this is a free skate.
Love Jason and I wish him all the best!
I hadn’t watched this program until just now and at first I was like “this short program sure feels long”… lmao
I was very confused when he jumped the double axel. I was like why does he take the double as his axel jump in the sp, and then when he jumped the 3a3t i was even more confused, finnaly as he jumped the second combination i realised it wasnt a short program.
I love it when people smile doing something they truely enjoy.
There's something missing with how this sport gets judged... He had no quads and some flawed jumping passes. But, this program grabs my attention and is one that stands out as an all time favorite. I enjoy this much more than the Russian jumping princesses any day. How do we objectively capture the positive attributes in a program like this in a score?
maybe like with the synchronized swimming have something to do with artistic creativity or maybe create an emotional capture category
We need an individual ice dance event. It's a crime that somehow, they figured out that lane for pairs, but not for individual skaters. Jason is a star who should have earned gold long ago.
Completely agree. It’s so ridiculous that skaters like this don’t get the medals and recognition for their incredible skating just because they don’t do an extra rotation in their jumps. I’d take a performance like this over a bunch of quads any day of the week. The judging system needs to be completely reformed.
his USA nationals of this program is perfect. I think at this moment... its simply not meant to be for him. He tried to jump quads on later yrs but he easily gets nervous or something and then his consistency get affected. Im glad he still got silver in USA national 2023. Kudos to him for keeping himself healthy and still ready to skate
He is one of my favorite skaters, his musicality and the way he moves is unmatched, he don't need quad jumps.
This step sequence though....so complex and beautiful 😍 It’s a shame that this sport has turned into a quad race. It takes space away from the sheer loveliness of artistry and whoo boy! Jason has that. It’s too bad single ice dancing isn’t a thing. If it were, Jason would decimate all.
Correct, and you've hit on something I always say...the one thing that adds something so special for Jason is that he would also have made a great dancer...not many skaters have that (Robin Cousins had that ability, too). Plus he knows what kind of music to pick...something the audience can relate to...something that gets his heart racing, as well as the audience. Too many skaters pick such blah music...something you've never heard before and never want to hear again, but it sounds classical...maybe they're trying to impress the judges with that kind of music, but they should at least pick something from the classics that is more memorable!
@@lindanitzschke1315 This is the first time I have seen Jason skate. There are no words to describe him. Very talented and a great skater. Better than Scott Hamilton.
@@lindanitzschke1315 If you haven't already, check out his Sinnerman short program. He did it twice, this season and last season. It's among the best pieces of choreography on ice you will see.
@@lindanitzschke1315 Absolutely agree. And I've been saying for a long time that the Olympics needs an individual ice dance event to make up for what's happened to the sport in the last 10 years or so. I remember Robin Cousins, too, and I agree that he and Jason are cut from similar cloth. I hope that, once Jason has gone pro, he becomes a specialty coach to figure skaters, to help them learn something about line, grace, and flow.
@@lindanitzschke1315 you can really tell that he's logged many hours of ballet practice. He's truly incredible and imo far better than the others and the silly quads.
I sometimes revisit this when the world is starting to feel a little worn around the edges and always leave with a smile.
Me too
Yes!!! Especially this same program at the nationals in 2014. Pure magic.
I do as well :)
@@danielleyingling6740yes his nationals skate is one of my faves of all time!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love seeing how much Jason has improved!!! Anyone else want to see him do this again?
Heck, yeah!
He tore the roof off in Boston with this performance on his way to winning the US Men's Skating Championship for 2014! He just loves to skate and emote!
Gosh I love all his steps and spins - basically like he’s actually dancing in the ice
One of my favourite skates ever!! Jason is the GOAT when it comes to performing, I'd take triples and artistry over quads and robotic skating anyday 💗
Jason Brown is one of the best performers to ever grace the ice
No one skates like him.
Passion 1000000/10
I love watching Jason Brown he looks like he’s not working but having fun. You go Jason. ♥️
He's the best I've ever seen. Wow, he is gorgeous, his dance is just heavenly. :)
How great to watch Jason skate his heart out without any commentary. Fabulous artist.
Just watched Jason perform his short skate at Beijing Olympics and he did fantastic. I recognized him and then came back to watch this video of him skating to Riverdance.
Oh hey, same reason I’m back too, love it
never watched this guy before but I can tell he really enjoyed that program, makes all the difference
Jason Brown can fall on all his jumping passes and still give a breathtaking performance
Honestly, I barely noticed the fall - here's some next level sorcery from Jason
This is literally what got me in to figure skating, and I go back to this video every few years
His skating is so beautiful!!
He really must have studied Irish tap dance closely, there are so many details and references in this. And his expression and "stage presence" is captivating. Well done 💕
I've always wanted to see figure skating to river dance music and my dreams have been fulfilled. The fast pace of the music and the grace and beauty of figure skating really complement each other splendidly
As an Irish dancer I’m always a little dubious when people perform Riverdance routines, whether it’s gymnastics floor routines or skating. But Jason joins Bourne and Kraatz and Dominique Moceanu in having a great one.
Happy 10th anniversary to this amazing performance!!!!
Chills from this performance
He is amazing love his free spirit... love Irish ☘️ forever
That is the absolute best and joyful performance I have ever seen. A little hiccup in the beginning and then he blows it wide open. OMG!
Recommend his US nationals 2014 version of this skate! It’s amazing!
Ahhh He is so charismatic so beautiful Jason!!!
That was incredible. I don’t know much about figure skating but the quick feet at the middle was extremely fun to watch
He is so fantastic even without a quad . You can tell he is having fun. What he does is medal material. 🏅
I can watch him all day. Could care less about quads. Jason is magic
Gorgeous skater. I will never understand why a perfectly performed spin doesn't count for as many points as a quad jump
Because a quad jump is harder to perform. Personally I prefer ice dance and the artistry and skill of superior skating skills and footwork, but it's undeniable that a quad jump is an amazing athletic feat.
@@amaterasu777 I respectfully disagree. Quad jumps are difficult to perform but I am a fan of more than the quad. Beautiful flow out of a jump, footwork covering the ice and a performance from the heart are what matter to me. I am not a fan of the jump, skate, skate, jump which is popular now. None of the other skaters give me goosebumps. Jason always does.
@@susanperry5469Quads are boring. Jason soars.
Jason does such difficult and beautiful and perfectly executed spins I often think the same thing!
I remember watching Jason as he performed this 9 years ago,and I was in awe and thrilled to be able to watch this.I believe it was his finest performance
Reel Around the Sun is the LONG program! Free skate. Jason Brown emerges onto the World scene and BRINGS THE JOY!
I love Jason, he is always so joyful! I'm smiling when watching this performance.Thank you Jason!
Still my favorite Olympic figure skating performance
It's impossible to sit still while watching! Amazing!
A shame he couldn’t skate this to his full capability. It’s a very nice program, well choreographed and arranged. We saw what an impact it could have when he skated it cleanly but just a tough go out there on this occasion. Oh well
Olympic nerves strike again.
He still did well, even if it wasn't perfect. The crowd didn't do much to help him out. They were lame.
Stunning! That footwork! Really brought forth the energy and soul of the Irish Reel. Perfect!
This skater is amazing and the best television producer of a skating event I have ever seen.
One of the most dynamic performances I've ever seen!
So beautiful Jason ❤️❤️❤️
Such a cheerful performance i really like his smile haha
What a PHENOMENAL skater😍
One of the most entertaining and spectacular programs ever skated ! Bravo!!!!
What a legendary program, performance and skater. 10 years later! Quads muads…. he’s my fav US skater!⛸️♥️⛸️
This will always be my favorite figure skating performance, incredible 😊
GOAT footwork sequence? I don’t think I’ve ever seen deeper edges than those 💫
Jason Brown's musicality and ability to interpret every note of the music is IMO what figure skating should still be. The intricate footwork he does is just as difficult as a quad and much more impressive. Too bad they don't judge accordingly. This program and his long program, Schindler's List from Bejing are two of his best performances.
Watched him first in that famous US nationals viral video and it still makes my eyes wet watching this dude throwing himself into his loved craft. Forget about ice skating. 👏
Yay, Jason Brown skate to his Reel Around the Sun by Riverdance.
One of his best programs of his career. Electrifying!
I love his energy!! ♥
Phenomenal performance!! I love ❤️ how he himself enjoyed it, Jason’s smiles say it all 🥰
This one plus Mariah Bell's routine to Hallelujah never cease to make me smile :)
Jason is flawless
Jason is amazing, I just love him 💘
Outstanding
And 10 years later, at age 29, he won the Silver Medal at the 2024 US Skating Nationals. His skating always makes me smile!
Thanks for your comment,. I just saw some videos on RUclips of 2024 and I wondered where he came in. Silver is wonderful, given that what he’s doing in skating now is developing the performance aspect of it, and not the competition. He’s come into his own wonderful joy of skating.
❤mine too!!
The reason is because there is more than simply going from jump to jump!!! It's the flow of the entire program which is awesome
Love. I’m always amazed he did the 3A’s during the slow beginning (I know, I know his weakest jump). I think he would’ve nailed them with the extra adrenaline going with the upbeat part.
2 years later and he's still putting his toughest jumps (Quad, 3A) at the beginning. I wish he'd wait maybe a minute into the program and get his feel of the ice first.
Bravo Jason !!!!!♥♥♥♥♥♥
Some of my favorite music, and a fabulous program to go with it! This boy has 'dance'!
the more he skates the better he gets. this guy is tremendous.
This skater is amazing and the best television producer of a skating event I have ever seen.
beautifully structured program, great choreography.
IT WAS HIS FREE SKATE
I watch his performance for good vibes!!!!
What can you say?Fantastic 👏👏👏
This program is a joy to watch
I think this was the first time I ever saw jason skate! watching this activated a core memory of some kind. captivating and entertaining both then and now, jason remains one of my all-time favorite skater ❤️
Ok. That is so awesome
Still one of my favorite performances
He is so flexible and graceful. Even without quads , his performance was entertaining
So beautiful!! Great job, Jason!!
So precious, loved it!
Thanks for the version without the commentators constantly yapping
Who cares about quads! Triples are amazing enough, especially with artistry!
Watching this and St Patrick's day is coming up. This is such a fun skate. Unforgettable!!
Such a masterpiece
He’s wonderful!
Jason is exquisite. Thee best figure skater ever!!! 🤩😍🥰
I love his performance
Intertaining
This is awesome 👏🏻 👏🏻 I smiled thru the whole thing 😁
Absolutely amazing...
Beautiful, Spectacular, and Amazing. I loved this performance was so natural
🏅🥇 Congratulations
That's a performance!
Thank you Jason for choosing an Irish song ❤️
I never fail to get chills watching this!
Who doesn't love jason💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋
Pure magic
LOVE THIS!!! 😍❣️❣️❣️
There's something wrong with how the scoring is done when the gold doesn't go to a performance like this, that produces a reaction like this. This is the only skating performance I've ever seen that really moved me and has stuck with me.
Loved loved loved this!!!! 🥰😍❤
Outstanding. ❤🎉
Yay Jason I love this origram
